Construction began:

Official opening:
The mosque is officially opened by Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien on 26 September 1958. Now, on 26 September 2008, Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien turns 50.
