4th December 2008, Thursday -- Al-Falaah School held their Year End Ihtifaal (Concert) 2008 and Certificate Presentation Ceremony at Dewan Serbaguna Yayasan Pengakap, Tingkat 5, Bangunan Ibu Pejabat Persekutuan Pengakap Gadong on 28 November 2008, Friday afternoon.

The guest of honour was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Health.

My daughter was studying at the school at KG2 PM. So, I attended the ceremony to watch her perform on the stage. Her class KG2 PM combined with KG1 PM to perform a sketch and a nasyid entitled “Ahlan Wasahlan Bilghadi”.

I was touched by the performance by the my daughter and her friends as well as all the others’ performances. The most interested parts were the pupils themselves (partly) became the master of the ceremony (MC) and the pupils’ ability to present a speech in English, Arabic, and Malay.

Some photos:

One of the videographer
One of the father (I guess).
I guess this is a proud mother.
One of the MC.
A familiar face. If I am not mistaken, he is the one who become one of the photographer during the wedding ceremony of my wife’s cousin a few years ago.
Now, most of us have a camera to record the history.
Some of us have a video camera. I guess a still camera with a widescreen video such as Panasonic LX3 or TZ15 (my wish list) should be enough for my needs and preferences. And Canon EOS 5D Mark II would be great addition to my list.
Singapore…is a FINE city.
Do not cross this.
Welcoming speech by Hajah Sharifah Mastura bin As-Saggaf, Al Falaah School’s Deputy Principal.

The Guest of Honour.
The wall decoration: “The greatest lesson a teacher can give is to teach a child to love himself”.
I guess this is the official photographer of the ceremony.
“Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe and those who have been granted knowledge”.

A LCD display of a video camera: My daughter and her friends are presenting a nasyid.
A drama presentation “Kisah Kaum Tsamud” by primary students of Taman Manggis Manis branch.

After the concert
After the concert, we went to Millenium Fast Food Restaurant. Actually, my son wanted to eat some french fries (his favourite food).
The grilled chicken.
