This evening I went to The Mall Gadong to take a look and a touch at the latest Acer notebook computer. I dropped by at the Concepts Computer's booth (in Goldpages Expo 2008).
I tested the notebook and i found out that it is too small for my fingers if I want to use it for heavy typing work. It is okay if I want to use it for internet surfing (but not for blogging when photos are to be included - as I need to process the RAW file first using the Canon DPP software), including the MSN.
Too bad Acer Aspire One does not have the Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR to connect to a 3.5G mobile phone wirelessly for internet surfing. And there is no Windows Vista.
May be the Linux OS and its program is sufficient for internet browsing. The question is "Will the Linux's USB connection to the mobile phone work properly?" (for 3.5G/3G internet connection) (Acer Aspire One is advertised as "Internet Mobile Device"). To find that out, you have to test it first.
The price of Acer Aspire One A110 (with Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz, 8GB flash module, and IGB DDR2 RAM) is BND738.00 at Concepts Computer (This price is correct at the time of posting).
p/s: I still like the Kohjinsha UMPC more due to its touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, Windows Vista, and CF/SD card slot.
