10th February 2009, Tuesday – The big flag raising ceremony for Brunei Darussalam’s National Day Silver Jubilee celebration was held at the open area of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on 8th February 2009, Sunday.

According to a press report, the big flag measures about 12-foot wide and 24-foot long. The flag is raised on a pole at about 110 feet high.

As usual, the Royal Brunei Navy are given the honour to hoist the national flag.

One of the Royal Brunei Navy member has received the big flag from Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Ahmad bin Haji Jumat, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports.

31th January 2009, Saturday – Yesterday morning I went to Boustead Beribi showroom to attend their Chinese New Year 2009 Open House. The public were given light refreshments and a presentation of lion dance.

The invitation. I also received a SMS from one of the salesmen. One of the car brand distributed by Boustead is Nissan.

One more car brand that is distributed by Boustead is Suzuki.
A car that is used by CHMS Lion Dance Troupe.
A crew is assembling the “stage”.
The stage is ready.
Mandarin oranges and a red envelope are put in front of a Suzuki Swift car.
The “lion” is eating the oranges and takes the red envelope.
A “white lion” is eating the Mandarin orange and drinking the Coca-Cola carbonated drink.
Still drinking or eating.
The yellow “lion” is going to eat the fruits.
Try to get the red envelope and the vegetable that is hung on the ceiling.

26th January 2009, Monday – Last night, the eve of Chinese New Year 2009, I went outing with members of Brunei Forever Forum (BFF) to the Chinese Temple in Bandar Seri Begawan.

I arrived at the meeting point, Coffee Bean BSB, about half hour before 9pm. There, I meet the only other BFF member, rae128. In BFF, I am known as aRT aBAZ.


The rain was heavy and prolong last night that most of the listed members did not come.
